Abstract

Child sexual abuse is a globally prevalent phenomenon. It is more prevalent than our society is willing to acknowledge. It has serious physical and psycho-social consequences that adversely affect the health and overall well-being of the child. Though there is acceptance of the fact girls are not safe nowadays, this safety net is not extended to boys. This blind, cross- sectional study aimed to throw light on the patterns of sexual abuse and the effect of counselling on the reporting of sexual abuse among male school going children of Patiala city, aged 12-17 years.
