Abstract

Medical records of the patients are medico-legal documents and a doctor can be cross- examined against the same. However, it is a strong evidence of the proof of administration of standard medical care provided the medical record is properly maintained and the documentation is complete. Incomplete medical records spell deficiency in service and the complainant patients are entitled for compensation under law.
