Cardiac arrest in pregnant women is a dangerous and complex condition owing to the presence of two patients (mother and fetus) is defined by WHO as death of woman from pregnancy related causes or within 42 days of pregnancy. Across the developing world a woman dies every 2 minutes from the complication of pregnancy and child birth. The present article is an update on maternal cardiac arrest aims to highlight the causes and its management.
